Obviously (Ire) (Choisir {Aus}–Leala {Ire}, by Montjeu {Ire}), last seen narrowly capturing the GI Breeders' Turf Sprint at Santa Anita in November, has been retired due to bone bruising, according to published reports. The 9-year-old gelding had posted four listed works since late May, most recently covering three furlongs in :37.80 (3/7) in Arcadia June 27.

Trained by Phil D'Amato on behalf of owners Anthony Fanticola and Joseph Scardino, he was also a two-time winner of the GI Shoemaker Mile S. Bred in Ireland by Miss Deidre Cogan, Obviously went through the ring twice, bringing $2,603 at the 2009 Goffs February Mixed Sale and $217,758 at the 2011 Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale.

Obviously retires with a record of 29-13-6-4 and earnings of $2,321,751.
