Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Friday's Insights features GSW I Can Fly (GB) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}).

5.45 Dundalk, Mdn, €12,500, 3yo/up, 6f (AWT)
U S S MICHIGAN (War Front) makes his eagerly-anticipated 3-year-old debut for Ballydoyle, having created a lasting impression when second on his sole juvenile start in a Curragh maiden over this trip at the end of June. Coolmore and Joseph Allen's grey is a full-brother to the G3 Prix de Guiche scorer War Dispatch, who had the stamina to be third in the G1 Prix du Jockey Club behind New Bay (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

6.45 Dundalk, Cond, €26,000, 4yo/up, f/m, 7f (AWT)
I CAN FLY (GB) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) is another high-profile Ballydoyle runner on a card in which the stable is well represented. Last year's G2 Boomerang S. winner and G1 Queen Elizabeth II S. runner-up faces just three rivals as she looks for a direct entry into the £150,000 Ladbrokes Fillies and Mares' Championship over this distance and surface at Lingfield on the £1-million All-Weather Championships Finals Day on Apr. 19.
