Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Today's Observations features well-bred firsters for Godolphin and Coolmore at Navan.

Godolphin's JUSTINIAN (IRE) (Teofilo {Ire}), a Jim Bolger-trained firster, is out of 2007 G2 Schwarzgold-Rennen victress Scatina (Ire) (Samum {Ger}) and faces a baker's dozen in this marathon test. His rivals include Susan Magnier's fellow newcomer World Stage (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), a half-brother to 2014 G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest-winning sire Garswood (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}) and one of two contenders representing Aidan O'Brien; and Ballygallon Stud's homebred Hague Convention (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}), who is a hitherto-unraced gelded son of 2004 G1 Prix de l'Opera and G1 Premio Lydia Tesio placegetter Walkamia (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}), from the Johnny Murtagh stable.

NATURAL (IRE) (Kodiac {GB}) is a €305,000 GOFORB graduate who starts out for Qatar Racing and Richard Hannon. A half-sister to the G3 Prix de Cabourg winner My Catch (Ire) (Camacho {GB}) and G1 Prix Morny third Vladimir (Ire) (Kheleyf) related to Ballydoyle's potentially smart juvenile Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy), she meets another pricey newcomer in Cheveley Park Stud's €235,000 GOFORB purchase Juliet Capulet (GB) (Dark Angel {Ire}), a John Gosden-trained relative of the G1 Haydock Sprint Cup hero G Force (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}).
