ORBED (Orb) looks to make a good first impression as he debuts on the new outer turf course Sunday at Aqueduct. The bay was purchased as a yearling for $140,000 at the Keeneland September sale before dropping the hammer at $525,000 at this year's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Old Sale after breezing in :21 4/5. His dam, Julie From Dixie (Dixie Union), was a winner at three and has already produced one runner in Blame It On Dixie (Blame), who graduated on the turf as a juvenile. TJCIS PPs.

She also won the Ontario Colleen S. over the local surface. Her full brother, Shakespeare (Theatrical {Ire}), took home multiple Grade I events including the Woodbine Mile; and her half-sister Perfect Shirl (Perfect Soul {Ire}) won the 2011 GI Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. Their dam Lady Shirl (That's a Nice) was an accomplished turf runner herself with wins in the GI Flower Bowl H. as well as the GII E.P. Taylor S. over the Woodbine turf.
