No Mirage

Like Thursday's G2 Ribblesdale S. contender Mori (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Mirage Dancer (GB) (Frankel (GB) is another Juddmonte homebred of note who lines up with great expectations for the G3 Hampton Court S. on what could be another big day for the operation. The son of Heat Haze (GB) (Green Desert) looked unlucky to be only fourth behind the subsequent G1 Epsom Derby runner-up Cliffs of Moher (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Bay of Poets (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) in the Listed Dee S. at Chester May 12 and Sir Michael Stoute has brought him along with the kind of quiet assurance for which he is renowned. Aidan O'Brien's main hope is carried by Orderofthegarter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who was sixth behind Taj Mahal (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) when that stablemate was fourth in the G1 Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly June 4. He had little luck in running in the home straight there and may have gone close to winning with a clear run. Runner-up in the G2 Dante S. at York May 18, 'TDN Rising Star' Benbatl (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) was one of the chief eyecatchers when a staying-on fifth in the G1 Epsom Derby June 3, but has endured a busy spell and needs to handle fast ground. Trainer Saeed bin Suroor, who also saddles the May 11 G3 Chester Vase fourth Tamleek (Hard Spun), commented, “Benbatl ran a big race at Epsom and his latest piece of work went well. This distance will suit but we would ideally prefer some ease in the ground. Tamleek won well at Newmarket at the start of the season and has been in good form since his run at Chester. Stepping back down to 10 furlongs will help him and he is in good form.”
