No Ascot For Quiet Reflection

Quiet Reflection and Karl Burke | Racing Post

One high profile absentee from Royal Ascot this week will be Quiet Reflection (GB) (Showcasing {GB}). The Karl Burke trained filly has met with a training setback and will miss her intended engagement in Saturday's G1 Diamond Jubilee S. Quiet Reflection has already made her mark at the meeting when she won last year's G1 Commonwealth Cup and Burke told the Racing Post on Monday, “She has had a slight setback and won't be confirmed. She is not 100 per cent and she is too good a filly to take a chance with. It is not life-threatening, but she won't go to Ascot and won't go to Newmarket [for the July Cup].” Quiet Reflection has already shown her ability to handle an ease in the ground; her smooth victory in the G1 32Red Sprint Cup S. at Haydock last September was achieved on 'soft' so Burke will no doubt be hoping the 4-year-old will make a full recovery in time for other late season targets. “I hope we will get her back for an autumn campaign and go to Haydock and Champions Day,” he added.
