“TDN Rising Star” New York Central (Tapit) will attempt to stamp his ticket to Louisville for the First Saturday in May while making his black-type bow Sunday in the GIII Sunland Derby. Dominating by 7 1/4 lengths in his second start going six panels at Churchill Downs Nov. 26, the gray was a close second next out in a one-mile test at Oaklawn Jan. 13 and scored by a neck next out going two turns in the mud there Feb. 19.

A two-time winner at Churchill last year, Seven Trumpets (Morning Line) missed by a half-length when second in the Jerome S. at Aqueduct Jan. 13, but could only manage seventh in the GIII Southwest S. at Oaklawn Feb. 19. His trainer Dale Romans also saddles “TDN Rising Star” Hollywood Star (Malibu Moon), who was last seen finishing fourth in the GIII Sam F. Davis S. Feb. 10.

Kaleem Shah's All Out Blitz (Concord Point) checked in second behind Grade I-winning “TDN Rising Star” McKinzie (Street Sense) in the GIII Sham S. Jan. 6 and was third last time in the GII San Vicente S. Feb. 10. Another California-based runner that could make some noise at a price is Peace (Violence). The Richard Mandella pupil was fourth last time behind Bolt d'Oro and McKinzie in the GII San Felipe S. Mar. 10, earning a 90 Beyer Speed Figure for that effort.
