The NBC Sports Group will offer 15.5 live hours of GI Kentucky Derby coverage, beginning Wednesday, May 4, at 5:30p.m. on NBCSN and culminating with the 142nd running of the Derby on NBC Saturday, May 7, at 4:00p.m. Saturday's coverage will begin at noon on NBCSN.
NBCSN will provide live coverage of the Kentucky Derby draw Wednesday at 5:30p.m. They will also show live coverage of four races Thursday, May 5, beginning at 4:00p.m. and seven races Friday, May 6, starting at 12:30p.m. There will be nine live races split between NBCSN and NBC Saturday.
There will be a series of features focusing on different horses and their connectiongs during the Derby day coverage, including a look at undefeated champion Nyquist (Uncle Mo); a profile on the Desormeaux brothers; a discussion with owner Mike Repole; Carolyn Manno visiting with American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile); and Rutledge Wood's first Derby.
