TDN Rising Star‘ Mucho Gusto (Mucho Macho Man), the powerful 4 3/4-length winner of the GIII Robert B. Lewis S. at Santa Anita Feb. 2, worked four furlongs in the company of his stablemate Honeyfromthesouth (Fed Biz) in a bullet :47.60 at Santa Anita Thursday morning (XBTV video) as he prepares for his next appearance in either the GII Rebel S. Mar. 16 or the GIII Sunland Derby Mar. 24.

Eclipse Award-winning juvenile Game Winner (Candy Ride {Arg}) and Improbable (City Zip), each a ‘Rising Star’, are set to meet in the GII San Felipe S. Mar. 9 and trainer Bob Baffert is determined to keep the talented runners separated as long as possible.

“I’ve been working around the rain,” said Baffert. “I want them to meet in the [May 4 GI Kentucky] Derby.”

Joel Rosario has the call atop Game Winner in the San Felipe, while Drayden Van Dyke will pilot Improbable.
