Moyglare Next Up For Alpha Centauri

Alpha Centauri | Racing Post

'TDN Rising Star' Alpha Centauri (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}), who suffered her first defeat when a neck second to Different League (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) in the G3 Albany S. at Royal Ascot on June 23, will be seen next in the G1 Moyglare Stud S. at The Curragh on Sept. 10, according to the Niarchos family's racing manager Alan Cooper. The form of the Albany is thus far working out quite well, with fifth-placed Madeline (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) subsequently winning at listed level and sixth-placed Actress (Ire) (Declaration Of War) and seventh Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) winning at group level.

“I spoke with [trainer] Jessica [Harrington] on Monday and she tells me the filly is in good form and the plan is to run in the Moyglare,” said Cooper. “She'll go straight there. The Albany has produced an incredible amount of winners already and we look forward to seeing Alpha Centauri run again.”

Cooper also provided an update on the Niarchos family's G1 Prix de Diane winner Senga (Blame), who is enjoying a summer break before an autumn campaign.

“All going well, Senga is going for the Prix de l'Opera on Arc day,” Cooper said. “[Trainer] Pascal [Bary] is still considering whether to give her a prep race beforehand.”
