Breaking well towards the inside, the dark bay shifted off the rail under Francisco Torres to stalk favored Truthful (Bodemeister) a length back in second through a :22.51 quarter-mile. She began to put more pressure on the leader midway around the turn and the two of them were inseparable soon after straightening for home. Jazz Lady began to do the better work nearing the sixteenth pole and edged away from her pace rival to a one-length tally. Truthful held for second over late-closing Starr Bear (Broken Vow).
