Mission Impazible Wins With First Starter

Silver Mission | Adam Coglianese

MGSW Mission Impazible (Unbridled's Song) got his sire career off to a winning start Thursday, with Twin Creeks Racing Stables and Sequel Racing's 2-year-old homebred Silver Mission debuting victoriously in the 1st at Aqueduct. Off as a heavy 1-5 favorite in a field of five, the Todd Pletcher trainee was hustled to the fore to duel with second choice Fuhrlong (Langfuhr) through a :22.18 quarter-mile. Silver Mission poked a head in front turning for home under John Velazquez, but his pace rival responded at the rail and the two continued an all-out duel, brushing a few times in the stretch before the chalk just edged away late to a half-length tally in :53.28 for the 4 1/2 furlongs. An inquiry/objection sign was posted looking into the stretch incident, but the result stood. The winner's dam was a GIII winner and $438,843 earner who's a half-sister to Archers Bay (Silver Deputy), Ch. 3-year-old colt-CAN, MSW & GISP, $666,200. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $58,800.
