RULER OF THE NILE (c, 3, Pioneerof the Nile–Heavenly Vision, by Forestry), a $1 million OBS March buy last year, took all the money for his debut at Tampa and, despite some anxious moments on the turn, ran to his support with a dominant victory. Hammering as the fifth-priciest lot in Ocala after breezing a quarter in :20 4/5, the bay was scratched at the gate two weeks ago at Gulfstream, but returned with a pair of bullet workouts at Palm Beach Downs and was crushed to 3-10 by post. Away in good order, he let local firster Flying Bankroll (Brethren) go on with it through a :23 flat quarter and appeared to be struggling as that one inched clear heading into the turn. Finding his best stride after a :46.41 half, Ruler of the Nile rolled up to the leader's flank at the quarter pole, edged away from that rival outside the furlong grounds and kicked clear from there to graduate by 7 1/4 lengths. Boston Breeze (Overdriven) completed the exacta ahead of Flying Bankroll. The winner has a juvenile half-brother by Bernardini who sold for $370,000 to Gary West at KEESEP and a yearling Bodemeister half-sister. His dam was bred to American Pharoah last spring. Sales History: $240,000 Wlg '15 KEENOV. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $15,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
