Millennium & Madden Form Buckland

Zach Madden | Buckland Sales

Ro Parra's Millennium Farms and bloodstock specialist Zach Madden have teamed up to create Buckland Sales, which will offer its initial consignments of weanlings and racing or broodmare prospects at the 2015 November bloodstock sales. Buckland will be located at Millennium Farms, and will be the primary consigner for the farm, while also being available to outside clients. Buckland will be focused on the major North American yearling and breeding stock sales.

A Lexington native, Madden previously worked for his grandparents' On the Rocks Farm before pursuing a degree in business management at the University of Kentucky, while working for Three Chimneys Farm. During his 10-year tenure at Three Chimneys, he rose to the position of Director of Client Development before joining forces with Ro Parra's Millennium Farms to form Buckland Sales.

“We originally brought Zach on for many reasons, one being that we felt he was the perfect fit to further our initiative on customer service and another being that we thought he would be a great fit in building our sales consignment,” said J. Ted Neel, Business Manager of Millennium Farms. ” Once he was on board, we soon realized we could double down on the consignment front together and build something that was much larger than an in-house agency. The result is Buckland Sales.”

Added Madden, “I can remember doing night checks with my grandparents at their farm. I just took it all in, and if I close my eyes I can still picture it–the sounds, the smells, every detail. It captured me. Buckland's first consignment is full of prospects for every buyer. We'll offer weanlings by the right horses, mares in foal with quality, and some interesting racing and broodmare prospects that buyers could go either way with.”
