  Laurel, Race 5, Msw, 38,000, 2yo, 6 f, 1:10 4/5, ft

Ore Pass, C, 2, by War Pass

1st Dam: Wisconsin Lady, by Stephen Got Even
2nd Dam: Tomisue's Pleasure, by Seeking the Gold
3rd Dam: Summer Matinee, by Summing

Ore Pass, looking to become the seventh winner for his ill-fated freshman sire (by Cherokee Run), had been training promisingly at Fair Hill and went postward at 9-2. The dark bay colt cruised along on the front end through a :45.85 half while facing some mild pressure. He gave himself some breathing room entering the stretch and found yet another gear when jockey Julian Pimental waved the stick at him, ultimately strolling home a 10 3/4-length winner. Favored We Found Love (Not for Love) rallied for second. The winner sold for $25,000 as a weanling at a reduction of Pam and Martin Wygod's California bloodstock at Barretts in 2010, and resold 13 months ago for $100,000 at KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $21,660.
