Blonde Fog tuned up for this unveiling with a bullet four-furlong drill at Santa Anita Oct. 22 in :46 1/5 and was let go at 6-1, despite coming from the powerhouse Bob Baffert stable. The bay filly outsprinted the field to grab the early lead and was well in hand while setting fractions of :23.59 and :47.74. She began opening up without being asked on the turn and stormed clear down the lane to score by an untested 12 1/2 lengths. Favored Fiftyshadesofhay (Pulpit) was second. Blonde Fog RNA'd for $37,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale before bringing $95,000 at this spring's Pegasus February sale.
