Big Break, a full-sister to the classy Famous Name (GB), Hwt. Older Horse-Ire at 7-9.5f, MGSW & MG1SP-Ire, MG1SP-Fr & G1SP-Ger, $2,050,547, was a debut third at Galway July 31. Here, she broke well from her inside box and held a prominent pitch along the rail in second through the early fractions. Taking a slender advantage at halfway, the well-backed 9-10 favorite surged clear approaching the final furlong and kept on well under minimal urging to score by an impressive four lengths from Monaco Mist (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}). "She was green at Galway, but didn't have a hard race and that paid dividends here," claimed winning rider Pat Smullen. "She has plenty of temperament, just like her brother had as a 2-year-old, and I'd say she has a big future. The ground is as quick as she'd want it as she'd appreciate a little bit of ease." Tereschenko (Giant's Causeway), a half-sister to Fasliyev, raced in rear throughout and finished 14th. The winner is also a half-sister to Zaminast (GB) (Zamindar), SW & GSP-Ire. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, €12,705. O: Khalid Abdullah | B: Juddmonte Farms | T: Dermot Weld |
