Not to be outdone by her little sister Kauai Katie, who was tabbed a "TDN Rising Star" after a super-impressive unveiling at Saratoga Friday (click here), Winding Way earned the same distinction for her second romp from as many starts. Having taken her June 10 career debut at Betfair Hollywood Park by 4 3/4 lengths with a 95 Beyer Speed Figure, the dark bay was bet down to 1-2 here. She got away a bit slowly, but quickly recovered and went up to take the early lead through splits of :23.32 and :46.64. Rider Rafael Bejarano threw a cross at her at the top of the stretch and Winding Ways drew off in a canter to report home 7 1/4 lengths clear. Elvies Lane (Mr. Greeley) was second. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $73,800.
