Distracting lived up to her esteemed pedigree with this performance. A granddaughter of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour (Deputy Minister), the homebred tracked stablemate Elusive Jackpot (Elusive Quality--Silverbulletday), who ripped through :22.02 and :44.92 splits. It was those two by a wide margin coming into the stretch, but by the eighth pole, Distracting, at 4-1, turned it into a one-horse race, bounding away to win by five lengths. Giacomo's half-sister Stanwyck (Empire Maker) put in a huge rally at big odds to be second, with Dime Piece (Tapit) gaining third late. Elusive Jackpot faded to sixth. The winner is a half-sister to Cascading (A.P. Indy), SW, $126,997. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $30,000.
