Mamma Kimbo, a $120,000 KEESEP yearling, gave trainer Bob Baffert the double for 3-year-old maiden specials at Santa Anita Saturday afternoon. From the same connections as GI Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty (Medaglia d'Oro) and fellow "TDN Rising Star" Princess Arabella (Any Given Saturday), Mamma Kimbo was let go at generous odds of 6-1. Up to hound the pacesetter under Martin Garcia, she took over after a half in a hot :43.64, began to edge away in upper stretch was full of run late to win by 5 1/4 lengths. My Philly Girl (Empire Maker) was second. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,600.
