Our Year was dusted in her career opener at Gulfstream Park Apr. 2, but came back 22 days later to break her maiden by 3 3/4 lengths in special weight company at that track. Off at 4-1 to make it two in a row, she was hustled up from between horses to gain the lead soon after the start. The bay had company as they rolled through the opening quarter in :21.45 and briefly lost the lead on the far turn, but jockey Elvis Trujillo was far from worried, taking a look back as they clipped off the half in :44.62. Our Year sailed off the turn and opened up on the field as Trujillo checked his rearview mirror once more, then let her gallop to a 5 3/4-length triumph on her own courage.
