  CURRAGH, 14.20, Mdn, 17,000, 2yo, 6fT, 1:14.06, gd/fm, 3, 6

Power (GB), C, 2, by Oasis Dream (GB)

1st Dam: Frappe (Ire), by Inchinor (GB)
2nd Dam: Glatisant (GB), by Rainbow Quest
3rd Dam: Dancing Rocks (GB), by Green Dancer

The subject of strong support from 13-2 into 3-1 second favoritism in this maiden won by the stable's subsequent dual Group 1-winning 2-year-old Mastercraftsman (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) three years ago, Power began well and disputed the early lead against the rail. Niggled at by halfway, the bay was running greenly when given a couple of reminders by Colm O'Donoghue approaching the quarter pole. Given one more a furlong later, the bay responded by drawing away under hand riding and was firmly on top at the line, where he enjoyed a two-length margin to Remember Alexander (GB) (Teofilo {Ire}). Aidan O'Brien said of the winner, "He is a sharp, mature-type and a lovely, big honest horse. He may be a horse for Royal Ascot." Orchestra Leader (Van Nistelrooy), the son of the 1988 G1 Coronation S. winner Magic of Life (Seattle Slew), was never able to land a serious blow and finished sixth. Power is a half-brother to Thakafaat (Ire) (Unfuwain, GSW-Eng, $194,772). Sales history: 50,000gns RNA yrl ‘10 TATOCT. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €11,730.
