Just an hour after Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) carried on his flagship duties for the longstanding Juddmonte/Cecil connection, World Domination arrived on the scene in this 11-furlong maiden to put substance to a mountain of hype. Talked about for some of last year and much of the winter and spring, the unambiguously named homebred was sent off the 3-1 second favorite, and settled behind the leaders early. Traveling strongly to the front end with just over three furlongs remaining, he stayed on the bridle while his rivals came under driving, and drew clear in impressive style when eventually let loose by Tom Queally to hit the line 3 3/4 lengths in front of stable companion Solar Sky (GB) (Galileo {Ire}). "He had been doing things right at home, but some of ours are needing their runs and being a little bit babyish," Queally said. "He was shouting beforehand and looking around, but, when I got on him, it all came together, and he relaxed and went round there like a handicapper who had had five or six runs. It was a nice performance, and he was actually going too well too soon, so I was afraid he would get tired. like some of ours have been. His professionalism impressed me, and he is a classy animal. A lot of people are getting carried away, but he'll go for a Derby trial now, and we'll see." World Domination is a half-brother to Ithaca (Distant View), GSP-GB and dam of GSW and G1SP Zacinto (GB) (Dansili {GB}); and Many Volumes (Chester House), SW-GB, $166,681. He is also a full-brother to Eagle Poise, GSP-US, $258,033. Reams of Verse foaled an Empire Maker colt last May, and was bred back to First Defence. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £5,181.
