1st Dam: Carson Jen (MSP, $137,425), by Carson City
2nd Dam: Calamitous Jen, by Deputy Minister
3rd Dam: Robertina, by Roberto

A Z Warrior RNA'd for $775,000 when offered as a yearling at KEESEP. The half-sister to E Z Warrior (Exploit), GSW & GISP, $238,468; and J Z Warrior (Harlan's Holiday), MSW & GSP, $328,118, went postward as the 6-5 favorite to become the first winner for her freshman sire (by A.P. Indy). After breaking alertly under Martin Garcia from post two, the dark bay filly had a head in front after a :22.43 opening quarter. She edged clear in the lane and hit the wire 1 1/2 lengths in front of a very green Indian Gracey (Indian Ocean) who, after ducking in late, galloped out strongly past the winner. Zayat Stables campaigned E Z Warrior after purchasing the colt for $1.2 million at BESMAR, and privately acquired Carson Jen by the time she produced Z Z Warrior (Dixie Union) in 2007; that colt graduated at first asking last Saturday for trainer Bob Baffert at Hollywood. Carson Jen was barren to A.P. Indy for 2009, but produced a colt by J Be K--another Zayat colorbearer--Feb. 5. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,600.
