Fifth on debut over seven furlongs at Salisbury in October, G2 Ribblesdale S. entrant Thaahira took a leap forward to beat the colts in this decent maiden won in recent times by subsequent Group scorers Mountain High (Ire) (Danehill) and Harbinger (GB) (Dansili {GB}). Settled in rear early by a confident Richard Hills, the homebred traveled with ease and was asked to close on the final turn and defy the bias for front-runners which had dominated the rest of the card. Sweeping alongside the long-time leader Cultivar (GB) (Xaar {GB}) with 100 yards remaining, the 5-1 shot's jockey had time for a word in his brother Michael's ear on that eventual runner-up before she kicked to an impressive 3 3/4-length success. The winner is a half to Najah (Ire) (Nashwan), Hwt 3yo-Ity at 9.5-11f, GSW-Ity, SP-Eng. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, £7,123.
