  Churchill Downs, Race 8, Alw, 50,200, , 6f, 1:09.18, ft.

Cash Refund, G, 3, by Petionville

1st Dam: Swept Away, by Mystery Storm
2nd Dam: Queen Ambra, by Alhambra
3rd Dam: King's Quote, by Bold Monarch

Cash Refund, a half-brother to Swept Gold (Touch Gold), GSP, $108,435, was an eye-catching, 6 3/4-length winner of his career opener (video) at Fair Grounds Feb. 19, and went postward here as the 9-5 second choice to 8-5 Unbridled Express (Unbridled's Song), who was making his second start off a 2 1/2-year hiatus. Allowed to settle into stride a couple of lengths off the :21.03 quarter set by Snapshot (Awesome Again), the Klein homebred ranged up on the turn, took charge in front of the stands and was ridden out to a seven-length success. Snapshot stayed on for second, while Unbridled Express never factored on his way to an eighth-place finish. Cash Refund is the fourth foal from his speedy dam, who collected the GIII Azalea S. and GIII Safely Kept S. in 2000. Swept Away has a yearling colt by Arch and foaled a Hard Spun filly this year.
