Gatorette, a $130,000 KEESEP yearling, earned a 90 Beyer speed figure for her 7 1/4-length debut victory sprinting six furlongs at this track Feb. 1. Sent off the 4-5 favorite for this second go, the gray filly set the pace through fractions of :23.08, :45.91 and 1:10.07. She spurted to a clear lead in upper stretch and effortlessly drew clear before finishing wrapped up and 7 3/4 lengths in front of Indy's Sonata (A.P. Indy). Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $48,200.
