A $200,000 FTKJUL yearling, Rail Trip was no secret in his debut and was sent off the 2-1 chalk. The bay broke sharply and had company as he pulled his way through an opening quarter in :22.34. He opened up under mild urging from jockey Jose Valdivia Jr. through a half in :44.51 and was on his own courage as he hit the wire 3 1/2 lengths to the good. Hiya Silver (Silver Charm) was easily second best. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $22,200.
