Royal Ballade, the first foal for GI John C. Mabee H. and G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Musical Chimes, was given a 3-1 chance, but performed like the piping hot favorite in this career bow. On the engine from the start, the bay set crisp early splits of :22.32, :46.35 and :58.30 and once asked for some run in the stretch, powered it up a notch to romp home an easy 6 3/4-length winner over Eye of Taurus (Aldebaran). False Impression (A.P. Indy) came on to be third. The winner is expected to make her next start in Godolphin blue. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $31,200.
