Elope, a 1/2 to Initiation (Deputy Minister), SW, $120,463, drove to a 2 1/2-length debut victory at Turfway last September, but had not been out since. Off at 5-1 in her second appearance, she was under restraint while sitting second though an opening quarter in :21.58. The chestnut put a head in front after a half in :44. 76 and was under only mild encouragement from jockey Ramon Dominguez as she opened up on the field, hitting the line 11 3/4 lengths to the good. Overandabeauty (Grand Slam) was second best. The even-money choice Dulcet Tone (Empire Maker) tired to eighth. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $53,930.
