Kareemah, a half-sister to last year's GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine and U.S. champion grass female Lahudood (GB) (Singspiel {Ire}), was let go at 15-2 for this racecourse debut, but made a mockery of those odds with a stunning opening show here. Quickly into stride, the chestnut homebred built a sizeable lead by halfway. Allowing the field to close to within four lengths rounding the home turn, she was sent clear once more approaching the final furlong and maintained a relentless gallop to open up a 15-length buffer on Quietly Winner (Ger) (Singspiel {Ire}). In addition to being half to Lahudood, MGISW-US & SW & MGSP-Fr, $1,695,373, Kareemah can boast of several other famous relations. Her third dam is Shadwell's remarkable blue hen Height of Fashion (Fr), dam of Unfuwain, Nashwan and Nayef, sire of Sunday's G1 Prix Jean Prat winner Tamayuz (GB). Lifetime Record: 1 start, 1 win, €11,000. O: Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum | B: Shadwell Estate Co Ltd | T: John Hammond |
