Cable, sent off at 5-1 for her career bow, settled near the back of the pack through early splits of :23.79, :47.17 and 1:11.01. Swung out midway on the far turn, the gray, who moved in along the rail, needed room for the drive at the head of the stretch, but when she finally found it, she rocketed to the outside of It's Not For Love (Not For Love) in the final sixteenth to score by a widening 1 1/2-length margin. Lanai (Gone West), a 9-1 chance, was third. The winner is a half sister to Exchange Rate (Danzig), GSW, $479,803; and 3/4 to Sabre D'argent (Kris S.), GSW-Eng & GSP-US, $159,017. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $28,200.
