Bold Union, a $75,000 KEESEP yearling, had been working lights out in the mornings and was no secret here as the heavy 3-5 pick. The bay filly set a pressured half of :45 1/5, then steadily drew away from an overmatched field to win by 10 3/4 lengths as jockey Stewart Elliot remained motionless. Cheeca Storm (Songandaprayer) completed the exacta. Bold Union is the third foal from Grade III winner Bold World. Her first two, the four-year-old See Forest Run (Forestry) and the three-year-old Advantageous (Vindication), are unraced. The nine-year-old Bold World produced an Afleet Alex filly in 2007, but slipped in 2008. Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Mares purchased Bold World, with Bold Union in utero, for $475,000 at the 2005 Keeneland November Sale. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $22,200.
