  LEOPARDSTOWN, 1.40, Mdn, 20,000, 2yo, f, 7fT, 1:26.33, gd/fm

Chinese White (Ire), F, 2, by Dalakhani (Ire)

1st Dam: Chiang Mai (Ire) (Hwt. 3yo-Ire at 14f+, GSW-Ire, GSP-Fr, $117,666), by Sadler's Wells
2nd Dam: Eljazzi (Ire), by Artaius
3rd Dam: Border Bounty (GB), by Bounteous (GB)

Chinese White, who carried high stable expectations into this debut, showed early dash to grab the lead under Pat Smullen. Always comfortable on the front end, the 7-2 second favorite cut loose at the top of the stretch and opened up to secure an authoritative six-length success from Carbonia (Ire) (Alhaarth {Ire}). "We have a very smart bunch of two-year-olds and she is one of them," trainer Dermot Weld said. "She will run one more time this year in a stakes race somewhere and wants a mile already--she'll make a nice staying filly next season." The grey becomes the fifth winner for her freshman sire (by Darshaan {GB}). The 3-1 favorite Kitty Matcham (Ire) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) was forced deep out on the track from her high draw and could not land a serious blow, eventually staying on into fourth. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, Eu13,020.

O: Lady O'Reilly | B: Skymarc Farm & Castlemartin Stud | T: Dermot Weld
