Ready Set, C, 2, by Touch Gold

1st Dam: Party Cited (GSW & MGISP-US, G1SP-GB, $377,943), by Alleged
2nd Dam: Dream Play, by Blushing Groom (Fr)
3rd Dam: Go On Dreaming, by Dewan

A full brother to Composure, MGISW, $731,300; and a half to Scandinavia (Fusaichi Pegasus), GSP-GB, Ready Set figured to attract attention when offered as a yearling last year at Keeneland September. He wound up fetching $800,000 from Lael Stables and was the highest-priced yearling of 2006 to represent his sire. The handsome bay debuted at Saratoga Aug. 4, rallying to finish third in the hot heat won by subsequent GI Hopeful hero Majestic Warrior, with runner-up Mythical Pegasus coming back to score and fourth-place finisher Anakim graduating yesterday at Belmont. Favored at 3-5 here while stretching out to two turns, Ready Set came away smoothly and shadowed Officer'sgentleman (Officer) from the start through a half in :47.45. He moved to take over approaching the stretch and, shaken up by Ramon Dominguez, strode home powerfully under a hand ride on his way to a 10-length triumph. No More Green (Cape Town) completed the exacta. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $42,200.
