  NEWBURY, 1.10, Mdn, 9,000, 2yo, 6f 8ydsT, 1:12.70, gd/fm

  Tajdeef, C, 2, by Aljabr

1st Dam: Tabheej (Ire) (GSP-Eng), by Mujtahid
2nd Dam: Abhaaj (Ire), by Kris (GB)
3rd Dam: Ibtihaj, by Raja Baba

Tajdeef was sent off the 11-8 favorite on the basis of a tall home reputation in the race won last year by the subsequent G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner Astronomer Royal. Breaking smartly to race prominently on the outer in the early stages, the homebred strode up to take over with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining before quickening clear to record an impressive five-length success from Redsensor (GB) (Redback {GB}). "He is certainly above average, has clocked quite a good time and I expect we’ll step him up to seven furlongs next time," trainer Barry Hills told PA Sport. "He could go for something like the G3 Acomb S. [at York Aug. 21] or the G2 Champagne S. [at Doncaster Sept. 15], but we’ll have to see how he is when we get him home." Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £5,829.
