J Z Warrior came home third going five furlongs in her career bow at Belmont June 29 and was installed the 3-1 second choice to get the job done with blinkers for the first time here. Rushed up to lead early, the 1/2 to E Z Warrior (Exploit), GSW, $135,000, spurted away to a six-length advantage with a sixteenth left to go and galloped home a much-the-best 10-length winner over Hopehopehope (Whywhywhy). The filly is the sixth winner for her freshman sire (by Harlan). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $41,500.
