Phantom Income, out of a half sister to 2004 Horse of the Year Ghostzapper and 3/4 to GISW City Zip, made a sparkling debut here under a motionless Eibar Coa. The $77,000 OBSAUG yearling and $200,000 OBSMAR juvenile acquisition showed a steady worktab at trainer Rick Violette’s Aqueduct base, most recently posting a four-furlong move in :48 3/5 June 30. Breaking from the four hole, she pressed 3-5 favorite Crosswater (Storm Cat) through a :22.21 opening quarter, put that one away on the turn for home and poured it on in the stretch to take it by an expanding 10 1/4 lengths. Shining Sea (Stormy Atlantic) was second, two lengths ahead of Crosswater. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $31,200.
