  Monmouth Park, Race 5, Msw, 36,000, 2yo, f, 5 1/2f, 1:04 2/5, ft

Lady Chace, F, 2, by Tiznow

1st Dam: Squall City (SW, $173,190), by Carson City
2nd Dam: Midway Squall, by Storm Bird
3rd Dam: Oh So Precious, by Best Turn

Lady Chace was hammered down for $290,000 as a KEESEP yearling and took an impressive first step towards recouping that investment with a daylight victory. Legged up for the debut over the deep Oklahoma training track at Saratoga, the dark bay was pounded into 3-10 favoritism and made that look like good value. A bit reluctant to load, Lady Chace was all business once the gates were sprung, edging to the front while three wide on the far turn. Clear into the stretch, she received a single right-handed reminder from Chris DeCarlo at the eighth pole and crossed the line a 10 3/4-length winner, despite racing on her left lead the entire stretch. Chita Girl (Vindication) was left in the wake. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $21,600.
