My Mammy, F, 2, by Came Home

1st Dam: Divine Dixie (SP), by Dixieland Band
2nd Dam: Hail Atlantis, by Seattle Slew
3rd Dam: Flippers, by Coastal

As a half-sister to the 2005 GI Blue Grass S. hero Bandini (Fusaichi Pegasus), GISW, $676,380, My Mammy had the pedigree to make an impact in her unveiling and didn’t disappoint as the crowd’s 4-5 pick. Hustled out of the gate under Ramon Dominguez, the dark bay set uncontested :22 3/5 and :45 4/5 splits and splashed home an impressive 13-length victress while under wraps. Pill Jam (Malabar Gold) was second. My Mammy is from the exceptional family of Rough Shod II and Moccasin that includes Grade I heroine Hail Atlantis (Seattle Slew), the dam of successful sire Stormy Atlantic. Owner and breeder William Backer purchased Divine Dixie for $185,000 at the 2002 Keeneland November sale while in foal to Maria’s Mon. Three years later, following Bandini’s victory in the Blue Grass, Divine Dixie was knocked down to Stonerside Stables for $2 million at the Fasig-Tipton November sale while carrying a full-sibling to Bandini. That resulting foal later died, and Divine Dixie was barren after being bred to Storm Cat last year. The 12-year-old mare is currently in foal to Giant’s Causeway on a Mar. 6 cover. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,000.
