Magnificience made an auspicious racetrack debut in this test, overcoming some self-made trouble to win with ease. Sent off the 9-5 second choice, the Bruce Headley-owned and -trained sophomore broke very slowly and was still some 10 or 11 lengths back at the first call. Picking it up leaving the backstretch, she made steady progress on the leaders on the turn, swooped to the front in upper stretch and bounded home clear by 6 1/2 lengths with ears pricked. The winner, a $40,000 KEENOV weanling and $120,000 KEESEP yearling, was produced by a stakes-winning half to Style Setter, the dam of G1 English Oaks winner Casual Look (Red Ransom). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $27,600.
