Elusive Warning, a $450,000 KEENOV weanling, was let go at 5-1 in his career opener, but performed like odds-on chalk. Checked at the start, he dashed up the rail to race with the leaders down the backstretch. The chestnut colt angled wide as they neared the stretch and lengthened stride to score by a handy 7 1/2 lengths over second-best Black Jack Blues (Orientate). The winner's second dam is a 1/2 to champion Gilded Time. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $25,800.
