Texas Voyager, a 3/4-brother to Nancy's Glitter (Glitterman), MSW, $477,972, was acquired by pinhooker Murray Smith as a yearling for $75,000 at OBSAUG. He was catalogued for the OBSMAR sale, but was withdrawn prior to the date, and Smith hung onto the colt. Despite several sharp drills, he was allowed to go postward at 6-1, but ran as though he was odds-on. The bay broke alertly from the two hole and vied for the lead through an opening quarter of :21.65. He assumed command on the turn and ran away from his rivals in the stretch on his way to a 7 1/4-length triumph. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $27,600.
