  NEWMARKET, 2.20, Mdn, 10,000, 2yo, f, 6fT, 1:14.69, gd

Dream Scheme (GB), F, 2, by Machiavellian

1st Dam: Dream Ticket, by Danzig
2nd Dam: Capo di Monte (Ire), by Final Straw (GB)
3rd Dam: Burghclere (GB), by Busted (GB)

Punters were aware there was something about Dream Scheme and they never had cause for worry as the 3-1 joint favorite recorded a resounding debut success. Stalking the leading trio along the rail from the outset, the bay homebred angled out to lead on the bridle at the furlong pole. Lengthening smartly from there, the issue was settled in a matter of strides as Jamie Spencer afforded himself the luxury of standing up in the irons 50 yards from the line, gearing down to an impressive 3 1/2-length score from Awwal Malika (Kingmambo). "She picked up well, lengthened nicely and it was a steering job for Jamie," claimed trainer Ed Dunlop. Responding to ante-post quotes of 25-1 for next term’s G1 1000 Guineas, the local conditioner added, "We haven’t really thought about where to go next, but, as there isn’t anything suitable, I shouldn’t think she’ll run again [this season]. She should stay further, but, as for the Guineas, there’s a long way to go." The winner is a full sister to Magic Mission (GB) (GSP-Fr & GSW & GISP-US, $397,856). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £6,477.
