Shorthand broke well, but was reined back to settle under cover in seventh until the three-furlong pole. Angled around rivals approaching the final quarter mile, the 13-2 chance quickened to the front for Kerrin McEvoy with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining. The bay was pushed out before gearing down late to account for Gull Wing (Ire) (In the Wings {GB}) by 1 1/4 lengths in taking style.
