  LEOPARDSTOWN, 1.40, Mdn, 20,000, 2yo, f, 7fT, 1:26.98, gd/fm

Fly Free (GB), F, 3, by Halling

1st Dam: Gipsy Moth (GB) (SW-Ger), by Efisio (GB)
2nd Dam: Rock the Boat (GB), by Slip Anchor (GB)
3rd Dam: Remosa’s Pet (GB), by Petingo (GB)

Fly Free faced some well-regarded newcomers and some fillies with vital racing experience here, but there was market confidence and she started as the 5-1 joint-second favorite. Showing professionalism to break smartly and dispute the early lead, the 20,000gns TATDEC weanling and Eu85,000 GOFORB yearling took over at the top of the straight and quickened clear in impressive fashion to record a 4½-length success from Muluk (Ire) (Rainbow Quest). "She’s a nice filly and I thought she might win," trainer Dermot Weld commented. "She’ll go for either the Goffs Million or Fillies Five Hundred [at The Curragh Sept. 19] and she is a potential Classic filly for next season." Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, Eu13,020.
