  CHANTILLY, 4.20, Mdn, 19,000, 3yo, c/g, 1 1/4mT, 2:09.90, vsf

Daramsar (Fr), C, 3, by Rainbow Quest

1st Dam: Daryaba (Ire) (MG1SW-Fr, $371,601), by Night Shift
2nd Dam: Darata (Ire), by Vayrann (Ire)
3rd Dam: Darazina (Fr), by Labus (Fr)

Daramsar was not without support at the tills for this first go and never gave his followers a moment's worry in taking out this newcomers' event with aplomb. Racing to the fore after a smart break, the bay eased up to the leader at the top of the stretch run. Closing all accounts when quickening clear approaching the final quarter mile, the 13-5 chance was in splendid isolation thereafter and cruised to the wire an impressive four lengths in advance of Gestionnaire (GB) (Trempolino). "He is a colt who took a little while to come to himself," explained winning trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre. "He has not yet reached his full potential and there is certainly room for improvement. We will take the conservative route and go for a [class] B race now." Lifetime Record: 1 start, 1 win, Eu9,500.
