Minister’s Bid comes from the barn that boasts almost 25 percent winners for first time starters, but was overlooked at 9-1. Sluggish at the start, the $750,000 KEESEP yearling purchase gradually picked off horses until taking over a furlong from home and drew clear in the run to the wire, winning by an eye-popping 8 3/4-length margin. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $31,225.
