Arson Squad rallied to be third, beaten just 1 3/4 lengths, in his debut over track and trip Jan. 14. Favored at 3-5 to graduate here, the dark bay gelding was pressured on the front end through fractions of :22.56, :45.86 and :57.63. He turned back the upperstretch challenge of first-time starter Evaluate (Ire) (Fusaichi Pegasus) and kicked clear to a 4 1/2-length victory. Arson Squad was a $20,000 FTKNOV weanling and a $100,000 FTKJUL yearling. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $31,680.
