  Santa Anita, Race 5, Msw, 47,200, 2yo, 1 1/16m, 1:45 2/5, ft

Tatsuji (Ire), C, 2, by Fusaichi Pegasus

1st Dam: Pharapache, by Lyphard
2nd Dam: Apachee (Fr), by Sir Gaylord
3rd Dam: Americaine (GB), by Cambremont (Fr)

Tatsuji, a half-brother to Cliquot (Bertrando), GSW, $638,260; Lily's Lad (Bertrando), MSP, $262,207; and Stockholder (Bertrando), GSP, $176,569, had been training smartly in recent weeks at Hollywood, but went postward at 10-1 for his career opener. The bay colt broke a bit slowly and found himself trailing the field through the opening half-mile. He got into gear on the far turn, headed Three Points (Point Given) in the stretch and, despite lugging in a bit, went on to graduate by two lengths. He was a $250,000 KEESEP yearling purchase. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $27,600.
